The conservatory renovation in Frauenkirchen, not far from Lake Neusiedl, involved the comprehensive renovation of a conservatory used as a living room with an open view of the garden. The starting point was significant water damage to the wall and to the cellar below. The root-cause analysis made clear that the damaged and leaking window sill was primarily responsible for the water ingress. Rainwater was able to penetrate the wall below through the damaged window sill and cause considerable moisture damage there, extending all the way into the cellar. In addition, the gutter was blocked, causing water to back up and also get into the aluminium profiles of the glass facade. As part of the conservatory renovation, the defective window sill was removed and replaced with a new, timeless aluminium window sill. The wall areas underneath and the sealing were professionally repaired so that rainwater is permanently prevented from getting in. The gutter and downpipe were also renewed to ensure reliable drainage of rainwater. Thanks to this holistic renovation, the causes of the water ingress were resolved for good and the conservatory is once again permanently protected against moisture. Today the conservatory is dry, bright and a pleasant place to relax again.
